Hi Yogis –
For a balanced yoga practice, we need both Yang and Yin elements. Yang yoga is the more traditional Hatha based asana practice that develops muscular strength, stamina and flexibility. But because it is my class, we are often bucking old traditions and creating new ways to think about how we move our bodies. In the more ‘passive’ Yin practice, we let go of the ‘doing’ and sink deeply into various floor poses. On a physical level, it allows us to work deeper into joints and fascia, releasing deep tension and toxins that get stored in the body over time. The more meditative nature of the yin yoga practice also allows us to observe and process mental and emotional tension we may have been holding onto during the day.
This class is fun, friendly vinyasa class, suitable for any yoga practitioner and may contain functional as well as somatic movement. Beginners are very welcome. Always remember that what is hard for you, may be easy for the person next to you and visa versa.
We are all here to learn together.
Please feel welcome to join me on Monday's at 5:30 pm and Saturday's at 2 pm for the Yin side of this class
xoxo Minh
